In February, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) released the 2018 Annual Performance Report (APR) results for each district in the State of Missouri. Once again, Riverview Gardens School District scored in the full accreditation status range.

The results mark the fourth consecutive year that RGSD has scored in the full accreditation status range. Under the leadership of Superintendent Scott Spurgeon, RGSD has restored its reputation as a leader in preparing students to be successful in the classroom and community.

Superintendent Scott Spurgeon said: “Our improvements are cause for great excitement. With a renewed vision and dedication, we have made historic progress that proves Riverview Gardens School District is back! Four consecutive years of scoring above 70% is a testament to the hard work of our students, parents, educators and community.”

Despite significant changes to the 2018 academic performance exams, RGSD students earned 90.3 points (75.3%). The 2018 score comes after the district scored 99 points (70.7%) in 2017, 104.5 points (74.6%) in 2016 and 111 points (79.3%) in 2015.

The district’s 2019 goals include achieving another APR score in the full accreditation status range, continuing to improve our academic programs and finding innovative ways to serve the unique academic, social and emotional needs of our students.
